Enrol in the Course Design Retreat |
|
CELT will be holding another session of the Course Design Retreat (CDR) on October 14 and 15, 2026. The CDR will help you design a new course (or redesign elements of an existing course) to better meet the outcomes and objectives of your teaching. The CDR is also required for completing the Excellence in Teaching Program.
In a change from previous years, all TFA and LTF faculty are eligible for this workshop, but space is limited. If we are over-enrolled, we will give priority to registrants who have made substantial progress through the Excellence in Teaching Program (ETP). |

|
For over 30 years, LAS has partnered with educators to design authentic, actor-led simulations that build learners’ confidence and professional skills.
LAS grants cover a collaborative design process with the LAS Writer/Trainer team to develop a new simulation for your teaching or assessment needs. Through last year’s inaugural LAS grant program, LAS partnered with faculty, instructors, and staff across Nutrition, Psychology, Social Work, the Career, Co-op & Student Success Centre, The Chang School, and TMU’s Library to create new, innovative, simulation-based learning experiences.
Do you have a course, workshop, or training session that could benefit from simulation? Don't miss your chance to bring simulation-based learning to life!
Applications close Monday, October 19, 2026.

This talk examines how doctors and patients distinguish between normal and pathological events in epilepsy. Dr. Megh Marathe will show that both events take what she calls an expedient approach to classification, weighing the risks and benefits of labeling an event as a seizure. By engaging in expedient classification, doctors and patients bend formal classification schemes to suit the complex realities of people’s lives. |
