Dear Colleagues,
Teaching is at the core of our work at TMU. The last five years have challenged and expanded our strategies to engage students, our commitments to create decolonial, equitable and just learning spaces, to respond to technological disruptions, and meet the social, cultural and economic pressures both within and beyond the university.
Please consider nominating a colleague who has advanced teaching and learning at Toronto Metropolitan University. TFA faculty and CUPE 1 and 2 contract lecturers who have demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching, course and curriculum development, leadership in experiential learning and pedagogical innovation and knowledge dissemination may be eligible for one of the awards listed below.
CELT staff can offer guidance to support the preparation of the Teaching & Education Awards, particularly for nominations prepared by students. Reach out to askcelt@torontomu.ca for more information.
The deadline for the submission of nominations for the President’s and Provost’s Awards for Teaching Excellence is November 4, 2025, 12 p.m. EST. Nominations for the Chancellor’s Award of Distinction are due December 9, 2025, 12 p.m. EST. Please note that nominees must accept the nomination to finalize the submission.
