Announcing Two New Grants

The Experiential Learning Hub (EL Hub) and Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) are excited to announce two new grant opportunities to support experiential learning at TMU during the 2025-2026 academic year.

Live Actor Simulation Grant 

Submission Deadline

October 1, 2025

Grant Value

Funding to cover the cost of LAS to author a custom simulation (typically ranging from $500-$1,000)

Grant Duration

Creation and delivery of new simulation during the 2025-26 academic year

Number of Grants Available

5 to 10, depending upon scope of work outlined in submissions

This exciting funding opportunity is intended to facilitate the creation of new, immersive simulations that bring real-world learning to your course or program through collaboration with TMU’s Live Actor Simulation (LAS) team.


This grant offers targeted funding to support the development of new simulations for courses or professional programming in the 2025-26 academic year. It is intended for units where development costs pose a barrier, and where there is identified potential for ongoing, repeated use of the new simulation following development.


The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2025.

Experiential Learning Design Grant

2025-26 - 3 grants

The Experiential Learning Design Grant is being introduced for the 2025-26 academic year to offer instructors an opportunity to meaningfully integrate experiential learning (EL) into their teaching of one or more confirmed Winter 2026 courses. The grant is being offered through the EL Hub with workshop and facilitation support from the Teaching Development/Digital Learning team and other resource units across the CELT.


The grant welcomes proposals for course-level EL integration or short-term innovations that strengthen the practice of individual educators, or that help departments and units further enhance existing high-quality, academic EL opportunities presently offered to students.


The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2025.
